Little Miss Bad Blogger!

5 02 2008

Well, that’s me. I hardly get time to write anything because I am working hard at college trying to catch up with work for the first semester, which is already over. I can’t believe it!

I suppose that’s no excuse for neglecting you loyal readers of my modest blog.

You may have seen that I did have a little time to set up my My Space page for the blog which I hope you like (I kept it the same theme as the blog with a bit more edge to it) and if your a member of MySpace then add MFM as your friend, come on you know you want to!

Click here or on the lovely logo to go to MFM My Space

My neglect is set to change next week as I will be on holiday for a week, therefore will have oodles (yes, I said oodles) of time to write my musings! I already have 10 topics (some small, some large) in mind and more will follow, so check back next week for lots of new musings!

P.S. Thanks for your support everyone, it means alot when people say they like my bloggings! x

Leona Lewis…INCREDIBLE!

29 01 2008

I don’t usually write about music but…Not ever has such worldwide hype surrounded one artist from the U.K. However, this hype is well deserved because this young lady from Hackney in London has a stunning voice with critics and the famous alike raving about the voice and beauty of this 22 year old girl!

From humble beginnings as a secretary, she gained fame after entering  the U.K. talent show, The X Factor (similar to American Idol) where she stunned the judges and audiences with a voice that was reminiscent of Whitney and Mariah, thereafter she cativated the entire nation.

Each and every week she wowed the U.K. with “world-class” performances and never failed to give it her all! Britain was overjoyed but not too surprised when she won (by a long way) on the final show and as proof of how much they believed in her they rushed to their computers to buy her debut U.K. single ‘A Moment Like This’, Leona broke the fastest selling download record by selling over 50,000 downloads in under thirty minutes, and it was crowned Christmas number 1 soon after.

2006 was one year Leona and Britain would not forget in a hurry!

Then, she almost disappeared with the exception of the X-Factor tour as she went off to meet with Clive Davis (music Mogul behind the likes of Alicia Keys and Whitney Houston) and a plethora of writers to create an album that would show the world what she was capable of.

In the fall of 2007, almost a year after she won x-factor she returned with ‘Bleeding Love’. Not a ballad as such which is what most were expecting, but a tune with  a r’n'b influence and more grit than anything we saw from her on the show. The U.K. loved it and it topped our charts in its first week of release outselling the rest of the Top Ten put together! It stayed at number 1 for an amazing 7 weeks and officially became the biggest selling record of 2007!

During this time she also released ‘Spirit’ her debut album which was equally loved staying at Number 1 for a total of 6 weeks. It was also the U.K.’s fastest selling debut album, and the fourth fastest selling album of all time!

Since, she has become an international success over the U.K. much of Europe and many other parts of the world, and now Leona has high hopes to be as popular in the U.S. too, with the hype steadily growing day by day and many performances, appearances and interviews lined up for later this year including American Idol, Oprah and American Vogue there’s little chance that she won’t become a massive success!

Also her image has never been doubted as anything but stunning but since her new single, she has also taken on a new sense of style and a presence that has Diva written all over it, which certainly lives up to the Diva in her voice!

Shes gorgeous!

‘Bleeding Love’ is set to hit the U.S. shores in February and her debut album ‘Spirit’ is to be released in April.

From what I’ve heard, America can’t wait!

Little Miss Cover Girls

22 01 2008

No matter what you think of these two girls, in fashion terms they do a very good cover shoot!

Featuring in this months issue of French Vogue, Naomi Campbell and Kate Moss look very stylish and edgy! Although some have commented that they are getting a bit boring and need to move aside. However I think this could be New Year, New Start for both women? Lets see how the year pans out, shall we!

Well, whats your opinion?

Little Miss Style Advisor

22 01 2008

So you may not have heard but one of the many Little Misses of Fashion is about to become the new style adviser of Elle U.K. for six months. Who is it you ask?

Miss Chloe Sevigny! Now despite popular opinion among some about her style or lack of, I think she has great individuality that should be admired it not slated!

This is a positive addition for Elle U.K. magazine and I will be buying it as soon as it hits the stands in March! She will be gracing the cover as well so you can’t miss it!

Plus, I hear that the rock-ability collection that she created for Open Ceremony in the U.S. will be coming to Selfridges soon, so if your near by go take a look!

AND…i hear she will be creating a shoe range for Poste Mistress through Opening Ceremony! It has been rumoured that the collection will be available very soon and be sold through Harvey Nichols and the Poste Mistress flagship store in London. Oh, how I wished I lived in London!

She has been a busy Little Miss. Keep up the good work Chloe!

P.S. Don’t forget March issue of Elle U.K. out near start of February.

‘THE’ Mr Blogger

17 12 2007

This is not a euphemism, it’s Perez Hilton!

This slightly overweight guy in LA that has become famous for bitching about the stars on his blog and now has a huge fan base (who mostly are crazy, but good crazy).

He has become a celeb. in his own right and gets talked about on other peoples blogs just for expressing himself on his own blog – oh look, so am I!

Unafraid to give his own point of view on the celebrities around the world or when deciding what to wear. Which as you may or may not know is eccentric as his hair, and as far as I can remember it has been every colour under the sun!

Perez, the friend.

Perez, the spokesman.

Perez, the peacemaker.

Perez, the ultimate drinks buddy.

Perez, the intellectual.

He may have bad fashion taste according to some standards and awful hair but his style makes him different, stand out from others and he becomes recognisable to anyone around the world who has seen his blog!

He doesn’t take himself too seriously or apologise for his choices in fashion and it’s why regularly I click onto his site to see what he and his blogging team have to say, plus to see what atrocious outfit he may be sporting that week (only kidding, love your style really Perez).

His musings are read by literally millions of people around the world and he has the ability to tarnish a rep. because he hears the gossip first – good or bad and puts it straight on his blog (sometimes before the media) which is why celeb’s want to be on his good side.

There is also a huge non-fan base who go out of their way to make their hatred for him known to everyone, including people who comment on his site and call him fat etc. but really, what is the point? Not everyone can like you, and if they hate him so much then why do they waste their precious time on him?!

Perez, the other Puff Daddy.

His fan base includes celebrities who he parties with on many occasions including Beth Ditto and Tori Spelling (pictured above), some aren’t too fond of what he writes (such as Victoria Beckham pictured at the top) and sometimes I disagree but he really doesn’t care!

I salute you Perez for never failing for being confident in who you are everyday in every way!

You can tell he lives in LA, man are those teeth white! Jazz hands everyone!

Little Miss Fahionista

16 12 2007

Mischa has a good fashion sense, though she probably is type cast as “The OC” girl forever she can dress for any occasion and stand out from the crowd (in a good way). Just like her appearance in Belfast at the opening of her new film, Closing The Ring where she went out in the cold wearing a black and white smart number (love the silver jewels and studded shoes).

This outfit is perfectly on trend and bare legs in winter, my what a brave girl – well, she is a Brit at heart!

I am not so sure about the hair, the styling is amateurish and that colour needs redoing, preferably in a darker shade - that blond doesn’t suit her pale, dewy complexion. The overall look could have been improved with more dramatic eyes to match the almost gothically inspired outfit.

But her hair and make up stylist are to blame there, her outfit is her doing and for that I applaud her. I wish I could find an outfit  like this on the high street, not likely!

Little Miss Fashionable

13 12 2007

I’m so excited, my first proper post and my first Little Miss all rolled into one.

Little Miss Fashionable of the moment is…drum-roll please…Chloë Sevigny.

There’s no denying her seemingly effortless cool and almost always spot on individual fashion sense which delivers more mystery, intrigue and interest than that other ‘it’ girl ever could. Oh, whats her name again? Yeah, Paris Hilton.

She is my queen of vintage who rarely ever seen in anything other than a gem of an outfit, each one worth a look even when you aren’t fond of it, it’s likely to showcase an item that’s so on trend shes wearing it before you knew about it! She’s a dark horse of the fashionistas!

Not just that, but shes also created a capsule collection for an American boutique chain, Opening Ceremony and it’s quite good. Here she is with her stylish friends modeling the collection.

It’s a little less adventurous than I was expecting (and small too) but the rockability feel and patterns just seem to work so well that it becomes something a bit more special than the fast fashion dross that you’d see on the high street. Plus it works, it flows, it’s not a mismatch of items (like some celebrity lines), it’s a real collection.

In this little clip Chloë Sevigny chats about the line.

(I’d love those Gingham trousers too, not that I’d ever have the guts to wear them, they just wouldn’t look right on me~trust me.)

So heres to you this December Chloe, we love your unmistakable style and want to see more of your creations soon. Thats an order Little Miss!
